Efficient use of waste heat (up to 1.000 °C)

In many production processes waste heat occurs in form of hot air which is put out to the environment without any use. Very often these hot gases are contaminated air.
On the other side clean (cold) air must be warmed up for the production process. In these cases cross flow heat exchanger can reduce the energy costs. The hot air stream will be conducted in the cross or counter flow method over the cold air inside the cross flow heat exchanger. Though both air streams are strictly separated because of the construction of the heat exchanger and they don´t get mixed (leakage less than 0,5 %). Only the energy of the hot waste stream is transferred to the cold clean stream.
The warmed up incoming air can now be used in the production process.
Cross flow heat exchangers as air-air heat exchangers are also called recuperators. By this, in a lot of industrial applications hot contaminated gases which are coming out of a thermic burning can be used for warming up fresh air which can be conducted to the furnace as burning air. 


Short payback periods with cross flow heat exchangers
In comparison to other heat exchangers cross flow heat exchangers have relatively short payback periods. Depending of the operation times payback periods may be shorter than six months. Even the good possibilities for cleaning contribute to the savings.


For every application the right material
For every application, with regard to the different environmental conditions, the right material must be choosen. We can deliver cross flow heat exchanger in Aluminum, Aluminum epoxid covered, stainless steel (1.4301, 1.4571, 1.4828) and also stainless steel gas-proof welded. In dependence of the installation situation adapters and other features are available. 


Certified software and modern production machines 
After choosing the right type of heat exchanger, the technical dimensioning is made with certified software as well as a three-dimensional CAD model. The optimization is based on efficiency, economy and loss of pressure. The customer approved CAD drawing is the basis for production with modern computer aided production systems.
